30 Portraits of Man’s Best Friend

Dog owners know the look….. the one that guilt’s you into giving them some needed attention.  The look that magnetically forces your hand towards their head. When a dog gives you that look, he is telling you that he needs your attention, that he’s still your best friend.

My black lab may not get the attention he deserves from me with three kids running around, but he remains faithful. He is always sad to see me leave, always excited when I return, and will always do whatever it takes to gain my approval.

During my summer vacation, I made a point to spend some much needed time with the old “tobe-ster”. Took him hiking, swimming, and even climbed a mountain in Maine (pictured).  When was the last time you took your dog on an adventure? I can guarantee that it will make his day.

I recently found a great photo of a dog on flickr with the same look Toby gave me (first photo).  I decided to put together a collection of incredible portraits of dogs.  I’m not talking about cute little puppy pictures here… these are dog portraits that resemble the love of a man’s best friend. If these pictures don’t make you want to reignite the relationship with your own dog, you are probably a cat person.
